SOTA has opened the lines of communication with the NSA jockeys by asking

Jockey liaison and representative, Forrest Kelly, to join the March conference call.

SOTA wanted to inform riders through Forrest, of the NSA trainer’s concern for

jockey safety. Many on the SOTA board feel the use of mouth guards can be a helpful

measure to prevent concussions.


On our March conference call, we also discussed the creation of an Apprentice Mentorship program. Forrest will be working with us to make this a reality. Stay tuned for more information on this program.


SOTA looks forward to working closely with Forrest Kelly to relay SOTA thoughts and concerns to the NSA riders.
